DAYCARE and CRECHE
The ISF Daycare facility accommodates up to 15 children aged six weeks old. The internal layout, decorations, and equipment are based on scientific research into how babies’ visual stimuli condition the development of their brains, and our designs optimise that development.
The professional staff of the daycare speaks at minimum English, French and Dutch, so the children are exposed to all languages throughout the day.
ISF International Daycare is supervised by Kind & Gezin (Flanders’ Child & Family Agency).
PRE-SCHOOL
The ISF Waterloo Pre-School sets an excellent foundation for a lifetime of learning, catering for children between 2 ½ – 4 years of age. The children follow a two-year program, covering six different IPC Units.
The Pre-School is situated in a spacious self-contained villa, comprising two classroom areas, a lunchroom, kitchen, rest area and age-appropriate toilets.
There are two self-contained play areas at the front and the back of the villa and the Early Years Playground with sandpits, climbing frames and toys, which the children use during their supervised morning break. Pre-School follows the International Primary Curriculum for Early Years. This is an internationally oriented program based on thematic units.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
In Primary, ISF Waterloo focuses on a wide variety of activities which are integrated into all learning tasks.
As the children develop through each stage, their work becomes more structured, without losing the fun element of learning. Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace and small class sizes ensure individual attention and teacher support.
The school offers the International Primary Curriculum, which is an internationally minded, thematic based curriculum that encourages students to develop the ability to learn and acquire the skills needed to become life-long learners.
Alongside the IPC curriculum, ISF also runs strong international literacy and numeracy programs.
The school also offers Additional English to non-native English speakers to help them integrate faster into school life.
SECONDARY SCHOOL
Middle School 11-14 years
In Years 7-9, ISF Waterloo follows a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales, tailored to the students’ needs, for Maths, English and Science, and a modified programme in other subjects.
